Air Canada put us on another flight that didn't depart until over 24 hours later! Despite our efforts, we were not offered any help in getting on an earlier flight, and the airline was unwilling to give us hotel vouchers or rental car vouchers. We paid for a rental car and drove ourselves from Montreal to Quebec City. Both of our returning flights were delayed as well. I understand things happen when traveling, but I expect some type of help/ reimbursement/ or sympathy (at a minimum) from the airline! This was my first and will be my only time flying Air Canada."

I expected that the crew would be handing out portable screens instead which would have been ok but pretty inconvenient. This was not the case. We asked the crew and were told that to have entertainment for the flight we would have to download the Air Canada flight into our OWN devices and connect to the airplane wifi. They also explained that you can't download the app while connected to the airplane wifi so anyone who wanted entertainment had to scramble to download the app while we were still on the ground and Use cellular data! at this point 300 people were either panicking because they didn't have a personal device with them, didn't have a charger for their device and so would have power issues or were forced to use up roaming data because they had non Canadian phone plans!!! At the very least staff should have told passengers about this setup while they were waiting at the gate, so that people would have time to download the app with airport wifi! add to all this the fact that the app was extremely low quality and the options for movies/show were disappointingly dated and limited. This was not officially a cheap low cost flight for my family but the service we got certainly would categorize it as such. Very disappointed."

It gave me 5 hours to think of all the reasons why I won't connect through Toronto again."

However, our flight was late leaving Dublin. It was extremely stressful and we had to literally run through the airport to try to get through customs and to our next gate. if that flight hadn't also been delayed, there was no way would have made it"

We were on the plane for 5+ hours (including a delay at the beginning). The beverage cart never came by again only a stewardess once with a liter square bottle and cups for water. I was parched upon arrival to Toronto."

I had NO idea I couldn't take a small carry on. That's insane. Worse than Spirit, which is not saying much. At least you can pay for a carry on with Spirit. They forced me to check my unlocked bag. United used to be one of my favorites. Its lower than Spirit now. Beware!"

I had no option to select seats, and when we boarded I was seated on the last row by the galley with no reclining seats and the florescent lights were on nearly the whole time on a 10 hour overnight flight. There are no seat back TVs and the free streaming service went down repeatedly just like the AC outlet at our seats (there are only two of these for three people). I booked this trip nearly a year in advance, and I am extremely disappointed that I wasn't informed that I was flying a budget airline on a 10 hour flight."
